I was born and raised in Fort Worth TX and have lived within a 3 mile radius my whole life. Luckily it is my favorite city in the world and I love getting to call it home! I live here with my beautiful wife Melissa and our new beautiful baby girl Roosevelt Pearl.

I was sort of an awkward kid growing up and was never good at sports (I couldn't throw a football if my life depended on it), but my parents bought me a guitar in 6th grade hoping that music would be a better fit.  And it was! I started playing guitar w/ my little brother Geoff and we wound up forming a band with some friends to play "Sweet Home Alabama" in our middle school talent show. When I was 15 and Geoff was 13, we started writing our own songs and re-named our band Green River Ordinance  (GRO). Playing music with my brother in GRO has taken me all over the world and I have gotten to do some pretty incredible things because of it. We have had singles on the radio, videos on TV, songs in movies, albums on top of the charts, and have played in everything from dive bars to arenas.  It has been a wild ride and this year marks our fifteen year anniversary of playing together.

When I am not playing and traveling with my band you can find me honing in on my photography skills, hanging out at my restaurant and coffee shop BREWED, or working on some sort of house project with our company 6th Ave Homes. I absolutely love real-estate and there is nothing better than taking old neglected homes and bringing them back to life!

My intro into the world of real-estate and house flipping came in 2010 when Melissa and I bought and remodeled our first home and then sold it 2 years later. From that point on I was hooked! I became obsessed with finding real-estate deals and working on house projects. As a couple we went on to buy, rehab, and flip 3 of our own houses and I also helped a few friends buy and fix up their houses. In 2010 I thought it would be fun to buy, rehab, and flip a house as an investment with my best friend Jimmy.  We pooled together $5,000 for a downpayment and purchased a beat up foreclosure. We remodeled it and then sold it for a nice profit in just 3 short months! It was a blast and we have never looked back! Together we have now worked on over 26 properties. There is no better feeling than seeing an old run down house transformed back to something great.

I am prone to wander and sometimes do stupid things, but God has been crazy good to me these past 31 years and continues to give me far more than I deserve. I love my little life in Fort Worth with my 2 beautiful girls and I would not change it for the world! As long as God keeps me on this earth I want to spend my time building community, creating art, and restoring things that have been neglected. Thanks for following on our journey!

I was born and raised in the east side of Fort Worth until my parents moved us out to the country during my teenage years. I grew up in a lower middle class family with my mom at home and dad an undercover cop and brick layer. I can still vividly remember my mom crying in the grocery store line, painfully taking items back because we didn’t have enough money to pay for it. I grew up and helped my dad lay brick in the summers and watched him turn a small brick laying business into building 10+ homes a year; all while working full time for the police department. I moved over 10 times growing up, moving from flip to flip, gaining a taste for construction and real estate each move.

As they say, “like father, like son”. When I turned 22, I applied and was accepted by the Fort Worth Police Department all while getting married to the love of my life, Waverlee. As soon as we saved up enough money, we bought and built our first house a few years later. After a few lot and home sales later, surprise surprise, we flipped our house. After moving 6 times in the first 7 years of marriage, it was time to settle down and we moved into our dream home on 6th Ave.

Today we still live on 6th Ave with our two boys, James and Hunter. Although we live in the city, we have much of the country in our hearts. On any given weekday, you will likely find our family outside, working on a project, playing in the yard, and occasionally see one of the boys peeing off the front porch. (Still trying to work on that one).

Our family is not the most perfect. We make plenty mistakes and don't always have the most perfect days, or cleanest house, or behaved kids, and sometimes not a comfortable savings account. Just like our houses, there's always work to be done with us also. Maybe that's why the idea of restoration is so appealing to me. Either way, whether it's seeing progress made on our houses, the City, or even our families, my hope is you follow us and enjoy. Thanks for checking us out.
